Advanced Nurse Practitioners (ANP):
Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) is a nurse who has undertaken extra training in clinical assessment, including history-taking and physical examination, so they can safely manage patients presenting with undifferentiated and undiagnosed conditions. They are qualified to investigate, diagnose and treat patients including prescribing medication and making referrals to secondary care. You can make an appointment with the Nurse Practitioner for many problems for which you may have seen a doctor in the past. Please note that ANPs are not legally allowed to sign Fit Notes (previously called sick notes).
